On Windows, you can also use the Quick Assist app that is already installed: open the Start menu, type Quick Assist, and enter the code we give you there. Hardware repairs and installs get an in-person visit.

  3. Back up and running

    Most jobs are finished in a single session, so you're not without your computer for long.
